Losing faith

This is a long story and request ..I’m going to be 42 years old and I do have a lot to be thankful for but I have never seemed to have found the special someone. I work with someone who is a fellow Christian and have started likening him..he didn’t have any self confidence or anything when I meet him. he has never had a relationship in his life with anyone. I been praying for him to be open up to the possibility of love and the prayer was answered sorta he even signed up for Christianmingle..and I did too (not knowing he was on it at first) we matched and matched high we always had so much fun together when we hung out.. anyway kept praying that he would still be open up to the possibilities of falling in love and praying that it would be me.. well that prayer backfire and he is interested in my coworker who use to be good friends with me.. and to make matters worse he just now told me to not talk to him anymore unless it’s about work so now not only have I lost him to someone whose to be my best friend that we also work with I know lost him as a friend… I am losing all faith in God and that he will never allow me to find happiness with anyone because every prayer I pray backfires or never comes true I try trusting in God everyday but it’s getting hard and harder
