This holiday season, Life 102.5 is excited to launch Christmas Kindness, a new initiative to spread the love of Jesus to families in our community facing financial instability, medical issues, or other difficult situations.
Earlier this year, we asked listeners to nominate individuals or families they know who could use extra help and encouragement this time of year. After much prayerful consideration, our team chose four nominees to bless.
McKaylie
It was love at first sight for McKaylie Justman from Janesville and River the Goldendoodle.
McKaylie is a college student with Type 1 diabetes whose mom nominated her for Life 102.5’s Christmas Kindness. Her specific request was for a service dog that could help her daughter determine when her blood sugar is low. The family knew this was an essential step for enabling McKaylie to one day live on her own.
Through a partnership with Custom Canines Service Dog Academy in Madison and the support of generous listeners, Life 102.5 was able to gift McKaylie a puppy for Christmas. River will grow up and go through training at the academy and elsewhere to become the service dog McKaylie has always wanted.
Brian and Sara
We are sharing Brian and Sara’s story on Life 102.5. They have a teenage daughter with significant health challenges and have had to travel back and forth to Mayo Clinic in Minnesota and other hospitals for care. We were able to gift them money toward hotel, gas and grocery expenses.
The friend who nominated Brian and Sara said, “This family gives all of themselves and always with a joyful heart and a smile on their face. The struggles are extremely exhausting for them all, yet they will point you to Christ in a heartbeat and give their shirts off their backs if you need it.”
Ann
Ann is a single mom in Watertown who recently rededicated her life to Christ. She has been working hard in a new job for the past three months but is still facing financial challenges with increasing rent. For Christmas Kindness, Ann requested a washer and dryer and was able to receive one through the help of Quam’s Appliance in Stoughton. This will save her from having to go to the laundromat on her days off work. She also received money toward a subscription for laundry detergent and Christmas expenses.

Nikki
Nikki is a recent widow and mom of four who experienced a catastrophic house fire earlier this year. The friend who nominated her told us that despite all of her recent challenges, Nikki remains a beacon of kindness and positivity for those around her. Through Christmas Kindness and thanks to Locks and Unlocks Inc., Nikki received help with Christmas gifts for her kids, a babysitting subscription service, and a spa day for two.
Stay tuned for one more story we’ll be sharing soon in the weeks leading up to Christmas. These were made possible in part by Locks and Unlocks Inc., Quam’s Appliance and Custom Canines Service Dog Academy.
If you would like to be part of making future stories like this possible, please consider donating to Christmas Kindness.
