A Free Community Meal is offered on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month from 5:30pm-7:00pm. This meal is open to everyone. This is a great opportunity for an evening of fellowship, and we won't make you do the dishes!

Call a sacred assembly . . . and cry out to the Lord (Joel 1:14)

Organized nationally by the Awakening America Alliance, this event is to take place from noon to 1:00 at every county seat across America on Saturday, September 11, 2010.

This will be a time to reflect on the greatness of our nation, honestly address our shortcomings, and pray for a spiritual awakening in our churches, communities, and nation.

The location for most participating counties is at the courthouse, but more complete information can be found at www.awakeningamerica.us.

In most cases, this is an outside event - dress appropriately for the weather, and bring lawn chairs if you care to sit.

Aspergers&ASD Support Group

Trinity Lutheran Church will be hosting the first local monthly support group for parents or caregivers who care for children and young adults on the Autism Spectrum. The first meeting will be held on Monday, April 19th.

Meetings will be held on the third Monday of each month with scheduled speakers who will share information on a variety of topics, including local resources, physicians and therapists, behavior modification, school issues, conflict resolution, social skills training, transition to adulthood, advocacy, positive language, and much more.

�As a mother of a newly diagnosed child,� Jennifer Vallier, founder of the group, states, �I did not have much success when looking for local resources and support to help simplify our lives. The goal of creating this group is to serve as a frontline resource for anyone needing accurate and current information on Asperger�s Syndrome and other spectrum disorders and the many issues that surround them.�

This is also a great opportunity to network with other families who understand how hectic raising a child on the Autism Spectrum can be and get needed support. Family members, friends, teachers, physicians, or anyone else who might impact the life of an individual on the spectrum are also welcome to attend.
